Immediate Obedience

Immediate Obedience
Do you question God before you obey, or do you give Him "Immediate Obedience?"

Is Immediate Obedience To God Something You Fear?

When it comes to obeying God are you the type that questions Him first? Do you feel the need to have all the answers to all the uncertainties, in what He’s asking you to do? Or maybe, you are comfortable giving the Lord immediate obedience when you feel His prompting?

Not too long ago, I was listening to a sermon and the pastor said this; “You don’t have to understand fully to obey God immediately.” When I heard him say that instantly this came to my mind; unwavering faith equals immediate obedience.

I must confess, there are times when I struggle with this. Especially when God is asking me to give up something that I don’t want to let go of, which hasn’t happened too often. However, I need to trust that He knows what’s best for me, and give it up to Him. But my response is not always that immediate. Thankfully He is a patient God.

If you are struggling to have the faith it takes for immediate obedience, ask God for help trusting Him. So you will be able to act when He calls, and not hesitate and question Him. In doing so, you will feel His blessing and an indescribable joy.
