Renovating

For the past four weeks my home has been under renovation.  I never imagined how stressful it would be.  My days consisted of breathing in daily dust, constant noise for hours on end, having total strangers in our house, and being confined to just a few rooms.  However the bright light at the end of the tunnel was what kept me calm and I now have a beautiful family room which flows into a huge area where we will share dinners with our loved ones comfortably, for many years to come (Lord willing).

I took the time to look up the definition of renovating which is; to restore to good condition; make new or as if new again; repair. To reinvigorate; refresh; revive. After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion; renovating whether physical or spiritual is not a comfortable task. Especially with certain power tools the Lord chooses to use as He restores us to a good or better condition than what previously existed.

Although it may be difficult and uncomfortable for us at times, we have to remember God is God and He does as He pleases but it’s always in our best interest. When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, in agony, He prayed three times for His Father to take the cup he was about to drink (his suffering) from Him. Fortunately Jesus thought of us and said to His Father “Not my will but yours be done.” See it was God’s will Jesus suffered and gave His life ransom for us. If He didn’t the outcome for us would be eternal death, eternally separated from God.

So again remember, God is God and He is still in control just as He has been through all eternity. He has a plan, even today. As an example, God’s hand is in the election and He will appoint the president for the next four years, who ever that will be. So rest in the peace that only He can give.

I thank you Lord for your love, and I thank you as I put my trust in you I don’t have to fret the world or the events that take place in it.
