Jesus is The Creator And Overcomer of The World

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

With all the craziness going on in our world are you feeling overwhelmed with the uncertainty? Do the high prices of gas, and the cost of living have you more than concerned? Well if so, today’s blog is for you.

In This World We Will Have Trouble

It‘s been almost 2 years since I posted my blog “Faithful” (I encourage you to read it). Like today, the world was in extreme turmoil, and we felt great uncertainty due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Fortunately for us, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). As He reassured me 2 years ago (and many times through out my life). He again was faithful to keep His promise in comforting me in times of trouble.

It was one morning not too long ago, I woke up and was laying in bed thinking and praying. My thinking turned into anxious thoughts about the future. Those same feelings, like I had in the beginning of the outbreak.

Laying there allowing my anxiety to flood me like a river, my heart began to race. On the other hand, when I refocused my thoughts on God and not the problems, I felt His peace.

The Importance Of Remembering God’s Faithfulness

Suddenly, God brought to my remembrance the day He used a bird and a local pastor’s sermon to minister peace to my heart. From there, the words to this poem quickly formed and I wrote them down. I hope you enjoy it.

Messenger From God

Birdie, birdie, on my window;
What would make you swoop so low?
Was it the Father who sent you from above,
to show me a glimpse of His great love?
Birdie, birdie, you waited there patiently for me to notice,
until the tears cleared and I could focus.
Lord, it must have been you;
after all, you’re the only one who knew.
The despair in my heart was too much to bare.
So, you sent your messenger to meet me there.
Birdie, birdie, as you clung to the sill early that morning,
I heard your message that a new day is dawning.
Birdie, birdie, God renewed my hope that day;
He filled my heart again, by sending you my way.

Over Coming Trouble

I don’t have the power to change the troubles of the world. However, there is someone who does. And Jesus is His name. Even when deliverance from trouble tarries, I know Jesus will sustain me through it.

I’ll never forget that day, how God used that bird to quiet my soul and fill me with peace. Now, each time I see a bird it’s a reminder to me that God is in control of my future. It enables me to recall His promises to provide. And I know because of who He is, He will make a way when there seems to be no way.

I encourage you to get to know the only one who can give you peace in the middle of your storm by reading the Bible. God’s inspired word.

Thanks for reading.
